The book of Ruth opens with tragedy upon tragedy,
but Ruth – a young, childless, foreign widow –
shines as the book’s godly example of faithfulness.

Trust that God’s wings of refuge will cover you.
Seek to be a refuge to those in need.

in ways they could not have orchestrated.

A love that is godly is a love that protects, provides, and inspires.
Let’s make sure our love honours—in the daylight or at night.

Boaz redeems the land and offers the family of Elimelek
a future and a hope through his own commitment in marriage to Ruth.
It’s a self-sacrificing act.
An act of redeeming love.
He did what he didn’t have to do out of love.
He redeems Ruth because he loves her, not what he can get out of it.
Ruth is now established as belonging within the people of God.
How can we show love through sacrifice?
